As the year winds down, we’re hitting pause in order to reflect on some of the top moments in Jellysmack news. From winning awards to expanding our industry-leading suite of creator solutions, 2022 has been one of the best yet for Jellysmack, and it’s all thanks to our incredible team and our amazing creator partners.

Join us as we look back on what it meant to Go Bigger, and let’s toast to more exciting things to come in 2023. 🥂

Creator gurus Colin & Samir highlight some of Jellysmack’s best moments of 2022.
1. January: ‘Go Bigger’ Brand Campaign Debut

We started the year with our first-ever brand campaign  that made a splash online and IRL. Top-tier creators Nas Daily, Charles & Alyssa, Patrick Starrr, Kendall Rae, Niki and Gabi, D’Angelo Wallace, LaurDIY, and Hellthy Junk Food took over billboards, bus stops, murals, and other outdoor marketing in some of the buzziest cities—and the creators just loved being part of it. Here’s a must-watch video from the campaign if you somehow missed it.

2. March: ‘Fast Company’ Named Jellysmack the Most Innovative Company in Video for 2022

We’re super proud of the tech and solutions we’ve built, so we were thrilled when Fast Company named us the Most Innovative Video Company for 2022. It’s kind of a big deal. Every year the media publisher nominates businesses based on the impact they make within their communities and industries, while evaluating their reach and influence. We joined the ranks of Apple and Vimeo, who both won in previous years.

3. On the heels of Fast Company’s prestigious recognition, we then landed on Forbes’ list of America’s Best Startup Employers

We ended March on a high.

4. April: Creator Post Blog Launches

No surprise, this might be our favorite on the list. We staked our claim as a thought leader in the creator economy by officially launching this blog. Since then Creator Post has been sharing our unique expertise and point of view, top-tier creator partner achievements, and the latest industry news. Is it too much to say it’s the go-to source for creator news?

5. May: We Partnered with Meta for Reels Pilot Program

With TikTok and YouTube Shorts content becoming increasingly more popular, Facebook rolled out a new way for users to create content. To test out the new API, the company selected Jellysmack as one of three alpha partners to help creators launch Facebook Reels. We jumped at the opportunity and things exploded from there—we hit big wins quickly, supporting over 225 creators to help reach larger audiences. Within five months, we published 17,000 Reels that generated 6 billion total Reels plays—no easy feat.

6. June: We Showed Up and Showed Out at VidCon Anaheim

What were you doing in June? If you were at VidCon Anaheim, aka the biggest creator event of the year, chances are you saw us. Between our panels with Charlotte Dobre and Niki DeMartino on the Creator Track and Hellthy Junk Food and Colin and Samir on the industry track, we had some serious stage time. Plus, President Sean Atkins held a fireside chat with TechCrunch’s Amanda Silberling, where they shared tips about algorithms and short-form content. Our jam-packed Featured Creator Lounge offered a spot for creators to rest and refuel, and who can forget about all the events and parties in between?

7. July: We Partnered with Pinterest to Launch Creator Shows on the Platform

Another partnership for the books! This time we teamed up with Pinterest to expand its creator offering. With the program, Jellysmack developed Pinterest series for creators LaurDIY, Liz Fenwick, Emmymade, Karina Garcia, and Crowned Ladies. This effort further reinforced our goal to offer the best opportunities to our talented creator partners.

8. August: We introduced JellyFi Financial Solutions for Creators

After hearing from creators that they face challenges when it comes to securing funds, we developed JellyFi: customized financial solutions that help creators grow their businesses. JellyFi gives creators the tools to scale up through a variety of custom financial solutions powered by technology.

9. September: Jellysmack Scored a Slam Dunk by Signing a Multi-Year Content Licensing Deal with the NBA

In other Jellysmack news, we gave our basketball community what they wanted and signed a winning multi-year content licensing collaboration with the NBA to license clips for use on our Jellysmack Original social channel House of Bounce. As a result, fans all across Europe and the Middle East were able to watch epic moments from the NBA’s 75th anniversary season and previous seasons.

10. October: Jellysmack Launched JellySmash Productions, Bringing Original Content Production to Creators

As a company that prides itself on helping creators Go Bigger, we expanded our solutions even further by rolling out a full-service video production program for our creator partners. After surveying hundreds of creators, we learned a significant portion of them needed help producing and shooting content, so we stepped up to help them by launching JellySmash Productions. Lights, camera, action.

11. November: Jellysmack Won the Digiday Technology Award in the Best Digital/Social Video Management Platform Category

Over the years, the Digiday Technology Awards have honored industry-leading work from brands that are moving the needle by using tech to modernize media and marketing. Previous awards have gone to Adobe, SpotX, Twitch, and Piano, and this year, Jellysmack was added to the prestigious list after winning in the Best Digital/Social Video Management Platform category.

12. December: The Streamy Awards Went Down and We Were There For All of it

The illustrious Streamy Awards took place on December 4th, and we were thrilled (but not surprised) that 12 Jellysmack creator partners were nominated. Special shout out to MrBeast, who won Creator of the Year for the third year in a row, setting a new record. He also won Creator for Social Good for his work with Mark Rober on TeamSeas.

Other top moments of the Streamys weekend? Our exclusive pre-party where over 100 guests gathered at Neuehouse in Hollywood, the star-studded red carpet (where creator partner Patrick Starrr owned the night in a shimmering gold floor-length gown), and our after-party at the Sofitel in Beverly Hills. Our parties might’ve been our favorite parts of the entire weekend.
