Pluto may have lost its planetary status, but it just gained something even better. Jellysmack is excited to announce a stellar collaboration that is set to expand the horizons of streaming content: Neil deGrasse Tyson’s StarTalk TV has officially landed on Pluto—Pluto TV that is. Science, pop culture, and comedy collide on this new linear channel for the leading free streaming service, which was developed in collaboration with Jellysmack following our successful launch into the FAST channel world last spring.
StarTalk TV will take viewers on a journey through everything under the stars, exploring the complex and vast universe in an accessible and engaging way. At its core is the brilliant Neil deGrasse Tyson, celebrated astrophysicist and Director of the Hayden Planetarium. But he’s not the only star making its way to Pluto TV. Comedic co-host Chuck Nice joins Neil, along with an array of entertainment personalities, award-winning scientists, and renowned celebrities such as Mayim Bialik, Jason Sudeikis, and Kelly Clarkson. Together, this galaxy of guests will go off script and explore a range of topics, from the mysteries of space travel to extraterrestrial life, and even the science behind iconic pop culture moments.
While navigating and understanding the world of science can be intimidating, StarTalk TV brings the phenomena of the universe down to Earth, translating topics into everyday terms, which has been the aim of the StarTalk media network since its inception.
“We are thrilled to bring StarTalk to Pluto TV,” said host Neil deGrasse Tyson. “At StarTalk, we transform complex science into fun and accessible content for everyone — especially for those who might think science is neither interesting nor relevant to their lives. We look forward to sharing our unique cosmic perspectives with the Pluto TV audience, as we continue to bring the universe down to Earth.”
This new FAST channel on Pluto TV expands upon Neil deGrasse Tyson’s already vast StarTalk media network, which spans traditional and digital platforms and boasts an impressive 25 million total followers. Launching a dedicated channel on Pluto TV will open up a whole new audience of curious minds who are ready to uncover the fascinating wonders that make up our world.
“Welcoming the StarTalk TV channel into our streaming orbit gives our viewers the opportunity to explore content that inspires curiosity and fosters a deeper understanding of the universe,” said Amy Kuessner, EVP Programming, Pluto TV. “This newest addition reinforces Pluto TV as not only a source of endless entertainment, but also a wellspring of education and knowledge to everyone, anytime, anywhere.”
