September was another month of trailblazing creator events and new opportunities for team Jellysmack. With a global presence, Jellysmack is committed to supporting creators across the world and providing the innovative solutions they need to expand their businesses.

Spanning three different countries and two continents, let’s recap the highlights from a few recent events: YouPix Summit, ForYou Awards, the Oh My Goal anniversary party, and VidCon Mexico.

YouPix Summit:  September 13, 2022 in São Paulo, Brazil

The YouPix Summit is one of the biggest creator events in Latin America, and the festivities returned to in person attendance for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic…with a bit of a twist. The hybrid event included an online option for those unable to attend on site, with over 22,000 people live streaming from home.

Jellysmack was an official sponsor alongside social media giants like Meta, TikTok, Pinterest, and YouTube. Over 1,300 attendees came to São Paolo, including creators, platform partners, brands and fans. With more than 50 panels covering the creator economy, established and up-and-coming creators alike were able to workshop new techniques and hear exclusive insights from industry experts about how to grow their digital businesses.

Jellysmack’s Latin America Marketing Manager, Paula Haefeli, hosted a Shark Tank style panel for emerging creators. The creators presented elevator pitches for the grand prize of a seat in an upcoming accelerator program and funding to expand their creator business. The winner? Up-and-coming digital artist @uendelns whose work combines whimsy with reality while making thought-provoking social statements.

Other YouPix panels offered useful tools to work through the highs and lows of being a creator. Jellysmack Creator Partnership Coordinator, Carolina Ervolino Reis, presented a panel on getting as much mileage out of your content as possible to circumvent burnout. Aptly titled “Make Your Content Work Harder for You,” Carolina featured tips on how creators can maximize the impact of every video and achieve long-term success through multi-platform distribution.

Armed with new knowledge to advance their creator businesses, attendees left with swag bags from Jellysmack and invitations to get in touch and discuss possible partnership opportunities.

ForYou Awards: September 19, 2022 in Paris, France

The ForYou Awards is the first and only awards ceremony for French creators, and more than 600 of the biggest France-based creators attended the event. With 14 categories, 137 creators were nominated for their contributions to the creator industry in their chosen niche. An additional 15th category, the Community Prize, was open for any creator with more than 10,000 followers to submit themselves for consideration.

Held at the exclusive Théatre du Chatelet, home to famed live entertainment like the Ballon d’Or, Jellysmack had a private area for partners and team members to enjoy the ceremony. Jellysmack sponsored the event alongside other industry giants such as YouTube, Brut, and tech companies like Meetic. Three Jellysmack creators were nominated across their respective categories:

Jellysmack was proud to sponsor the Lifestyle Award, which was presented by our Chief International Officer, Youri Hazanov. At the after party, Jellysmack hosted a stunning 360-degree selfie activation on the rooftop overlooking sights across Paris such as the Notre-Dame Cathedral and the Seine. With a huge line up until the end of the event, it was the most popular afterparty attraction. We love to see it.

Oh My Goal Anniversary Party: September 22, 2022 in Paris, France

Also in September, Jellysmack celebrated a special milestone: the sixth anniversary of our first Jellysmack Originals channel, Oh My Goal. What began as a passion project for Jellysmack co-founder Swann Maizil is now one of the biggest soccer communities on social with over 55 million followers and an average of one billion views per month. It paved the way for other Jellysmack Originals including Beauty Studio, Gamology, and House of Bounce, each of which contributed to the development of the tech, data, and learnings that power our Creator Program.

More than 150 people gathered in the amazing Pavillon des Princes for drinks and light bites while watching the Nation League game, hearing inspiring speeches by Jellysmack’s VP of Sports, Maxime Horbez, and our Head of Strategic Partnerships and Communication for Sports, Pierre Moreau.

Attendees included soccer content creators and key players of the industry such as journalists from Amazon Prime Video, Bein Sports, and Canal+. Most importantly, the Oh My Goal team connected with marketing agencies and brands to unlock new business opportunities. Content never sleeps.

The evening honored Oh My Goal as a power player in the soccer ecosystem with its ability to compete with, and even outperform, the world’s leading sports media.

VidCon México: September 23 through 25 in Mexico City, Mexico

The first ever VidCon Mexico was a massive success. With over 14,000 creators, fans, and industry insiders attending over the course of three days, budding and established creators alike made the in-person event a bright spot amid the past two years of rescheduling due to the pandemic. Hundreds of top creators attended, and Jellysmack hosted both group gatherings and one-on-one meetings with partners and creators.

Jellysmack was an official sponsor alongside creator economy heavy-hitters like Meta, TikTok, Paramount, YouTube, and Canva. Jellysmack led five panels during the event, with Head of LATAM Bruno Belardo, LATAM Creator Partnerships Manager Karina Camarillo, and LATAM Marketing Manager Paula Haefeli presenting and participating in the sessions. Top creators in Latin America collaborated with the Jellysmack team to cover topics ranging from multi-platform distribution, content strategy, and female entrepreneurship. Additional creator niches like beauty and prank content were also covered, ensuring every creator at VidCon México could engage with topics relevant to their content.

The event was also a celebration for Jellysmack as we made the official announcement that the megastar lifestyle and travel creator Luisito Comunica had joined our Creator Program. With nearly 40 million subscribers on YouTube, Luisito is one of the biggest creators in Latin America, and across the world. The announcement garnered exclusive news coverage with Expansión, Mexico’s main newspaper.

But the celebration didn’t stop there. Jellysmack walked away from VidCon Mexico with three new Mexico-based creator partnerships, (keep your eyes peeled for an official announcement soon). Dozens of other creators walked away with a Jellysmack high-end mezcal experience kit to remember us by.
